Thinking about things...

So, again, I haven't been on here in a long time. No biggie. Just have kept on forgetting to post. Oh well. Let's go...

Over the last year I have been reading a manga series that has come to a close. Yes, very sad. It was a good series! If you haven't read it, I suggest you do: Library Wars: Love and War (manga by Kiiro Yumi; original series by Hiro Arikawa). Very interesting idea - whether censorship can go too far in society, and what can be done to fight against it. I loved it! But, as I said, it's come to a close. Thankfully, though, the mangaka is planning on bringing to us the follow-on stories, so it's not completely sad time for me. My husband is just wondering how far he has destroyed my bookshelves with introducing me to manga. Before we met I knew it was there, I just hadn't read any. After we married...well...completely different story.

Back to topic: I really do recommend Library Wars. Yes, there is the love story (I'm a sucker for a love story), but the whole idea about censorship within society going so far that the government has its own censorship army... It's great! and what the Libraries do to try and combat this censorship. It's a great read. And it all focuses around our heroine, naturally.

Of course, Library Wars isn't the only manga I've been reading. I'm loving Rurouni Kenshin at the moment. Up to Ch 158 there. Only another 90 to go. Just. Need. To. Get. The. Next. Omnibus! Oh, I mean, I just need to buy my husband another present of the next omnibus. He loves the books, but apparently he hasn't ever read the story. Just watched the anime. I tell him he needs to read it. He was reading Air Gear instead, and is currently reading One Piece. Here's me also reading Strobe Edge and other soppy works as well...

Ahhh, the holidays. Got to love catching up on reading...

Another thing I've gone and done is not finish my Shinto shrine model that I wanted to. We moved house about a month ago, but I still haven't found all the pieces, nor fixed my Torii Gate up. It got a little broken in the move. I still have to paint everything and attach them to the base. That's going to be a heck of a job. The husband is telling me to pin the model - so it lasts better - but I don't know. I'm not too worried about it dying...except we are talking about Year 8 students (boys...!) manhandling it to some extent. I must think of something. Superglue just doesn't seem to cut it enough.

Anyway...after moving house twice in the last year, we're still unpacking, so that is one reason why I'm still looking for things. At least I've found my tax stuff for this year, and last year, and finally got last year's done. Nice little return coming my way.

We're also off to Japan later this year as a very belated kind of honeymoon. Husband has never been overseas, so he is really looking forward to it. I've been to Japan twice, and love it more each time. So I'm Really looking forward to it. I'm going to try to see if I can get a morning in a Japanese high school to see what their teaching style is like, but so far...not sure it's going to happen. We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.

Okay. Long post. Think I'll stop the rambling here for now. The year is going alright for now. We'll see how the rest of it goes from here on in.

Update: Wow! This is sounding very...ummm...Sorry for all the 'excitment' and disjointedness in the writing today. Not enough, or too much (?) coffee???
